Macallum House Benedict & Bloody's

No trip to Mendocino is complete without a stop at the Macallum House. This has been one of my favorite breakfast spots since I was young so I organized a small get together breakfast with some close friends on a beautiful sunday morning. Mac House is known for their amazing bloody marys so we all got a round to start off. It is very rich and comes with all the fixings, I am a big fan of horse radish and they load it in thick giving it a good bite which is blended with the perfect amount of vodka. I usually add extra hot sauce to my bloodies but these are very balanced and appeal to spice junkies and newbies.

Cant beat the view or the food

Most of us also got the Benedict which is served on a toasted piece of sour dough bread with thinly sliced ham, slightly runny egg's and a rich hollandaise sauce. A true classic, mix this with a amazing view from their sun room and good friends and it doesn't get much better.

Mother's Day Crab Benedict

I made a trip up to Mendocino for mother's day to see my mom and grandma and we went out to Cafe Beaujolais for brunch. I had their award winning crab cake benedict with potatoes, grapes and straw berries on the side. The crab cake was just crispy enough and tasted very fresh as it was caught locally on the Mendocino Coast. The benedict sauce was on the light side with not to much butter used which was good as it did not over power the taste of the crab which was the star of this meal. To wash this all down bottomless mimosa's were served which were taken full advantage of. Id give this meal a 9 out of 10 and highly recommend it.

Hawaiian Benedict

While visiting my friend in Kauai was fortunate enough to try this amazing Benedict at the Kauai Beach Resort. Was a traditional on a english muffin with ham and a healthy amount of buttery and thick hollandaise sauce accompanied by some of the ripest papaya ive had. A glass of ice water and lemon on the side was perfect as the night before was quite a wild one. Take a bite of the benedict followed by papaya covered in lime juice and enjoy the amazing view over the pool and back to the beach. This truely is Benedict In Paradise and is what spawned the idea for this blog.
